Another Year Older

Another Year Older

But this one is different...

Yesterday, January 24th, was my birthday. I really don’t make much of a deal over it anymore…I’ve had more than a few of them by now! But the slightly superstitious side of me tends to attribute a bit of significance to interesting numbers. Mostly because of my familiarity with Numerology. I’m kind of laughing at myself just saying that. Because I’m such a pragmatist. I try to be very grounded in reality. But there are still little whisperings of strangeness in our world. So, shrugging my shoulders, I admit I subscribe to some elements of ‘woo woo.’

What makes this birthday any more significant, numerically, than all the others? Well, it gives me one full year until I hit that Golden Number - the same age as the year in which I was born - 62.

For some reason, it feels like I should have achieved many of the life goals I’ve been striving toward all the years before that. And I _have_ hit the target for quite a few of my personal goals.

  • I found and have been in a 25-year relationship with my best friend and Soul Mate. That’s HUGE!
  • I’ve traveled the world…seven countries so far…having lived in one foreign country, as an adult, for over four years. International travel is a major passion of mine, so this makes me really happy! There are plenty of countries and places I still want to explore. But I’ve been very fortunate to experience some incredible destinations!
  • I’ve been self-employed, working from home, for most of the last two decades.
  • I have total time freedom. I completely control my schedule. And I get to do what I love, most of the time. That’s an enormous gift!
  • I raised three beautiful children who are all in meaningful, long-term marriages/love relationships, and have blessed my life with eight amazing grandchildren.
  • Jeff and I enjoy pretty darn good health with no need for medications or procedures. That’s incredibly uncommon ‘at our age.’
  • I’m a published author finishing up the fourth book in my nine-book fiction series. I have also published some non-fiction and low-content books that are also available for sale.

So, you might be wondering what other life goals I could be talking about when I say there are things I want to master by this time next year.

The top two on my list are:

  1. Weight loss and fitness. So, optimal health, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  2. Mastering ongoing financial stability and independence.

WEIGHT LOSS AND FITNESS

Weight loss has been the biggest thorn in my side…pretty much my entire life. It is the bane of my existence, lol! I have been dieting ever since I was a young teen. And now, it’s more than just the excess 20-40 pounds of unwanted weight I’m concerned about. These days I’m more concerned about longevity and disease prevention. My family history doesn’t look so great when it comes to that. So, I’m all about the whole “an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure” thing. But I’m tired of struggling with it. I don’t want to worry about what I put in my pie-hole for the rest of my life. So, I want to NAIL that issue and move on to better, more interesting things.

ONGOING FINANCIAL STABILITY AND INDEPENDENCE

Mastering ongoing financial stability and independence has to do with feeling secure in my own ability to generate a long-term, reliable stream of income. As an artist…which I am - whether you look at my writing, pyrography, or jewelry crafting…almost everything I earn an income from is directly related to what I make with my own two hands. Additionally, I have spent more than a decade working as a Spiritual Coach, which I love. I’m actively working toward building a solid source of residual, significant income. My books can do that if I lock in the marketing and promotion aspects of being a successful author. But trust me; there is a STEEP learning curve! So, this is something I’m determined to achieve before this next year is through.

So, to bring this blog post full circle…Numbers.

NUMEROLOGY

I was born on January 24th, 1962. If we break that down numerically, it looks like this -

1+2+4+1+9+6+2 = 25

Which further breaks down to: 2+5 = 7

In Numerology, this is known as the Life Lesson number and represents the lessons one must learn in this lifetime. It is most significant in the choice of a career.

From the book Numerology and The Divine Triangle by Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker we learn that -

“Number 7, as a Life Lesson number, tells us - You are here to use and develop your mind. Your words should be full of wisdom when you decide to talk. Your strong intuition helps in any line you choose and gives insight when needed. You may be an enigma to others and even to yourself at times. You like to read, think and meditate. Many times you have to rely on your soul-force to solve difficult material problems. You may delve into the occult, the mysterious, and the phenomenal side of life. Music and other arts are in harmony with your keynotes. You may be drawn to the church, science, or research and analysis. A career in mathematics or investigation could hold your interest. You should learn to spend time by yourself, in the woods, or by the seashore, where you can get in touch with your inner self and your deepest thoughts because your destiny is to use your mind.”

Interesting that my natural inclinations…creative arts, and Spiritual Coaching…mesh together beautifully in my mind.

Now I just have to figure out how to marry them into a cohesive whole over the next twelve months!

Do your birthdays hold any special significance for you? Do you set goals and objectives to achieve over the course of your personal New Year?

I’d love to hear from you!
