End of the Month Thoughts

September 2023

Writing - On the Back Burner, Pyrography - More of That, Spirituality - Expanding the Team at Seersie, Diet and Nutrition, etc.

That first cup of coffee in the morning is one of my very favorite things I love about greeting a new day! A few years ago, Jeff decided to learn about roasting coffee. And his new hobby took. He’s been roasting green coffee beans to a beautiful, dark, glossy brown each week. And every single morning, like clockwork, it actually pleases him to grind and brew the first mugful of the day for me. (It doesn’t look like the above photo…I drink it black. But I liked that image to share with you.)

Since moving to Texas, something we like to do that we’ve never really done before is open up all the doors so that the cool breeze can blow through for a nice, fresh air exchange. What with all the 100+ degree weather the past month, though, we’ve not been able to do that so much. We have just resumed that activity this past week or so, with the early morning temperatures finally dipping below the temp inside the house. And I love that. As I sit here, contemplating, I’m enjoying the fragrant experience of my hot coffee contrasted against the cool of our NorthEast Texas morning. And it’s blissful.

I awoke to the last full moon of the season in plain view from our bedroom balcony and it was beautiful to behold.

WRITING

I’m excited to report that my narrator and her producer are very nearly finished with performing the audiobook version of The Magical Legacy - Book Three in my Jack and the Magic Hat Maker fantasy series. It will go to Audible for approval then you’ll find it available for purchase on Amazon

Then, they will be digging right into the production of The Risky Reunion - Book Four in the series.

I have been working on writing The Order of Light - Book Five and originally set its pre-order publication date for October 1st this year (tomorrow.) But last month, I realized I’m just not going to have it ready to publish that soon. So, rather than trying to finish it prematurely, I’ve decided to push publication out a year.

I’ve decided to take a step back from writing for the time being to focus on other endeavors. And I’ll watch the series to see what comes of it in that time. I have put a lot of time, energy, and resources into writing this series…and now it feels like I’m striving to get it the exposure it deserves. I’ve always believed that I should step back from anything when it feels like I’m striving to force the thing to move in a certain direction. So, I’m letting it rest for now.

PYROGRAPHY

I had stepped away from wood burning (pyrography) a bit the last few months while focusing more on writing and editing. And I don’t know if it has anything to do with the onset of fall and cooler weather or not, but I’m feeling drawn back into my unusual art form lately. You may have seen some of the hats I have been burning, which are FUN! And I do use my burning tool to design them, but…that’s not really wood burning. I’ll be making more hats. But I’m enjoying burning some commissioned portraits and a special Halloween-themed collection I’m calling Haunted right now.

SPIRITUALITY

In the last month, I’ve also spent more time breathing new life into my spirituality website, SEERSIE.

I’m expanding the number of advisors offering their services on the site, and am excited to welcome several seasoned experts to our team. In particular, I’m pleased to introduce you to Alison Kynaston Jones - a Seersie Certified Advisor and Psychic Intuitive & Holistic Life Coach.

Alison is British but makes her home on the coast of southern Spain. She has over 50 years of experience and has been clairaudient since the age of twelve, a gift that was passed down to her by her Great-Grandmother. Learn More About Alison here.

You can expect to see our team at Seersie growing in the weeks and months ahead. Check back often, and be sure to hire one of us for insight and personal or professional guidance.

DIET & NUTRITION

I may have mentioned that Jeff has been following a primarily Carnivore diet the past few months, while I tend to be more plant-based…though my body seems to like it best when I include some animal protein on a pretty regular basis. We are both happy and healthy, but like everyone else, we struggle to keep gravity and the years at bay. Weight, joint issues, cramps, and digestive discomfort are a seemingly constant battle. This year, we’ve decided to allow ourselves the traditional Thanksgiving meal: turkey, potatoes, stuffing, pie, and all. Though, you can expect I’ll probably try to incorporate a few healthier tricks, hacks, and tweaks so that we don’t experience too many negative after-effects. For some lower-carb options, I like the Perfect Keto website for awesome recipes! Look forward to some ideas and recipes in next month’s newsletter.

Until next month, I hope October is filled with lots of cozy sweaters, soups, stews, and healthy baked goods! And, of course, fun Halloween time, as well as lots of quiet inner reflection and reading moments to recharge your spirit!

Blessings and Hugs,
Tracy
