The Golden Telescope Arrives Sept 9th 🌻 (and a Cozy Fall Treat)

Hi friends,

August has flown by in a blur of book prep, projects, and late-summer sunsets. 🍂 As we head into September, I’m thrilled to share some big milestones — including the release of Jack Mac Paidin and the Golden Telescope in its newly polished eBook edition on September 9th!

But before we peek ahead, here’s a quick look back at what happened this month.


🌟 August Wrap-Up

  • ✅ Finalized the revised edition of Jack Mac Paidin and the Golden Telescope — ready to auto-deliver Sept. 9th to all pre-orders.
  • ✍️ Continued drafting and world-building for Throne of Runes, my Viking romantasy series (releasing in January).
  • 💻 Behind the scenes: giving the Mac Paidin Publishing website a fresh redesign so it’s easier to showcase the authors I work with. Stay Tuned!
  • 🌱 Watched this newsletter community grow — thank you for being part of it!

✨ Looking Ahead: September Highlights

  • I’ll also be shifting focus to Angel Touched, a novella in the Jack Mac Paidin universe. Releasing November 15th.
  • Plus, the cozy season ahead means more time for writing (and probably more coffee + baked goods ☕).

🥕 A Cozy Carrot Cake Treat

Since fall is around the corner, I thought I’d share a favorite recipe from my kitchen — Best Ever Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. Moist, spiced just right, and topped with a tangy-sweet finish… It’s the perfect comfort bake.

Ingredients:

1-1/2 c. Cooking Oil
2 c. Sugar
3 Eggs
2 c. Carrots, grated
1 c. Pineapple, crushed (drained)
1c. Raisins (optional)
2-1/2 c. Flour
1 c. Walnuts, chopped or broken
1 tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Vanilla

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, cream oil, sugar, and eggs well. Add pineapple and carrots (and raisins, if using) & mix well.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon together. Add to the creamed mixture. Add vanilla last and beat well.
Pour into a greased 9x13" baking pan and spread evenly with a rubber spatula.
Bake for 45 minutes in a 350-degree oven.
Remove from the oven and cool on a rack on the counter until room temperature before topping with frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting:
2 c. Powdered Sugar
1 cube Butter - softened
1 three-ounce package Cream Cheese - softened
1-1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Blend all ingredients together in a small bowl using a hand mixer, and spread on the cake.
Makes approximately 12 servings.
